Victorian links

In Victoria there are a number of useful references but probably the most effective one at present is the Argus Newspaper. You can get access to all daily issues on the following site and can search for family names or particular people including ship arrivals:

Argus Index – Home The Argus , published in Melbourne from 1846-1957, was the quality newspaper of record in the nineteenth and first part of the twentieth century.

Other sources in Victoria are the BDM from PROV. GSV.

National sources are National Archives.

Although many things are not free ancestry.com.au is worth using.
