James Still died on 8 Nov 1887 in Goldie, Kilmore, Victoria of Dipsomania Convulsions.

Dipsomania is a historical term describing a medical condition involving an uncontrollable craving for alcohol. It was used in the 19th century to describe a variety of alcohol-related problems, most of which are most commonly conceptualized today as alcoholism, but it is occasionally still used to describe a particular condition of periodic, compulsive bouts of alcohol intake.

Annie Maria Still would have found it hard going with nine children, the youngest still an infant. Annie survived her husband by 21 years, dying on 29 May 1908 at Kilmore East, Victoria. Her Will and Probate are available to view.
